With a Timely account, you can easily set up slider and carousel views to create more engagement with your clients. You can choose any of these two animated views to highlight the most important events from your events calendar.
1. How To Access the Views
To access the views, go to the Settings > Embed Code. There you can choose between the available embed code types:
- Calendar
- Slider
- Carousel
- Add Event button
The types that we will explain in this post are Slider and Carousel.
2. Slider View
Timely event slider widget is an impactful way to show events on your website. Using the slider view, you can display as a slideshow. The slider will show one event per slide, increasing event awareness. See it in action in our event slider widget demo page.
To access the slider view, go to the Settings > Embed Code > Type > Slider.
Additionally, by expanding the Advanced settings, you can choose the maximum width of the slider, the sliders delay time in seconds and also the date range. Also, you can click on the Featured events checkbox to only show the events that have been marked as featured in your calendar
3. Carousel View
Timely's events carousel widget is a fun and attention-grabbing way to highlight events on your website. With the carousel view, you can showcase up to 12 events in a row of up to 4 events at a time. See it live in our events carousel widget demo page.
To access the carousel view, go to the Settings > Embed Code > Type > Carousel.
Furthermore, by expanding the Advanced settings, you can choose the maximum number of events to display, the maximum number of events per page, and also the date range. Moreover, you can click on the Featured events checkbox to only show the events that are already featured in your calendar.
4. Filters
For both the slider and the carousel views, you can filter the events that will show up, using categories, tags, organizes, venues and all the other custom filters that you might have created. This will help you to show only the events that you want your customer to see. Just expand the filters and choose the ones you want on the Slider or on the Carousel view.
5. Copying the Widget Code
When you are done selecting and customizing you view, simply go to the Widget code area, and choose the way you want to embed it on your website, as an iFrame or as a Server Side Embed.
Then, click on Copy Snippet and paste this piece of code in the calendar’s webpage of your website. Your page will show a beautiful slider or carousel view to display your most important events.
