Timely’s built-in Point of Sale (POS) system lets you securely accept in-person credit card payments using compatible Stripe and Square payment terminals. Before these terminals can be used during checkout, they must be connected and synced with your Timely account. Once configured, your payment terminals are linked to your payment provider and ready to process onsite payments seamlessly.

This guide explains how to connect and configure credit card readers in Timely.

3. Syncing Credit Card Readers to Your Timely Account

To enable in-person payments, you must first connect your terminal readers in Timely’s general settings. To sync your readers:

  1. Log in to your Timely dashboard.
  2. In the left-side menu, go to Settings > General
  3. On the right-hand panel, select Payments Receivable. If you don’t have a payment receivables account set up yet, connect your account first, and keep in mind it needs to be a Stripe or Square account to support the credit card reader.
  4. After connecting an account, you will see the option to Sync Terminal Readers.
